Pastor Wayne A. Powell, Sr., is a licensed and ordained minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and has been the pastor of Word Alive since July 2009. He is under the covering of Apostle Ron Carpenter of Greenville, South Carolina’s Redemption Ministerial Fellowship.

Pastor Wayne has a cutting edge voice for today’s church, and wisdom beyond his years, he believes in being transparent and down to earth. Relationships are at the heart of Pastor Wayne’s ministry. He has a desire to disciple people in order to transform lives through the Word of God, worship and relationships. Pastor Wayne also teaches how God’s kingdom is built and how we should be living it in our everyday lives.

With a ministry focus of healing wounded hearts, Pastor Wayne helps by building relationships and teaching the Word of God. This will allow people to know who they are in Christ and become all that God has called them to be.

A native of the Washington, D.C. Metro-area, Pastor Wayne spent 11 years training under the leadership of Pastor James “Skip” Powell. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta and has a degree from the Tabernacle Bible College and Seminary in Tampa, Florida.
